ORLANDO, Fla., May 28 (UPI) -- Casey Anthony's mother wept as she testified for the prosecution Saturday at her daughter's murder trial in Orlando, Fla.

Cindy Anthony undercut the defense version of 2-year-old Caylee Anthony's death in 2008, the Orlando Sentinel reported. She said the toddler would have been unable to climb into the above-ground pool at her home.

Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's lawyer, said in his opening statement that Caylee drowned accidentally and Casey was convinced by her father, who had sexually molested her as a child, to hide the body. George Anthony, who testified this week, denied molesting his daughter and the drowning story.

Casey Anthony appeared to show little emotion during most of her mother's testimony, the Sentinel said. But she also appeared to get teary when her mother talked about buying a playhouse for Caylee and putting it in the yard.

Caylee disappeared in mid-June 2008. Casey reported her missing 31 days later under pressure from her mother and then told police she had been kidnapped by a nanny.

Cindy Anthony said Casey told her she, Caylee and "Zanny the Nanny" were on a business trip. It turned out neither the job nor the nanny existed.

The judge plans to hold half-day sessions on Saturday. The trial resumes Tuesday.
