Child suspected in SoCal supremacist death

RIVERSIDE, Calif., May 2 (UPI) -- A neo-Nazi leader in Southern California apparently was shot to death by his own son, police investigators said.

Riverside police said Monday they were not sure if the slaying of Jeff Hall, 32, was intentional or accidental.

Hall, a regional director of the National Socialist Movement, was pronounced dead by Riverside firefighters summoned to his home Sunday night. He had suffered a single gunshot wound, police said.

The investigation Monday centered on one Hall's five children. Police did not release any details on the kids; however, they said they were not seeking any other suspects.

A neighbor told The (Riverside) Press-Enterprise Hall and his wife have five children, all under the age of 12.

Juan Trejo told the newspaper he didn't know the family well and kept his distance from them. He said rough characters, apparently other white supremacists, were frequent visitors.

"It was scary here," said Trejo. "Hopefully we'll never see any of them again."
