CLEVELAND, April 21 (UPI) -- A woman accused of backing her car over several people in a Cleveland McDonalds parking lot during a job fair has turned herself in to authorities, police said.

Cleveland Police Sgt. Sammy Morris said Stacey Mathews, 22, who allegedly was driving the vehicle during the incident which injured three people, turned herself in to Cuyahoga County sheriff's deputies at 11a.m. Thursday, the Cleveland Leader reported. A warrant was issued for her arrest Wednesday on felonious assault charges.

The car's passenger, Natasha Grayer, 22, was arrested and released Thursday pending further investigation, WKYC-TV, Cleveland, reported.

The confrontation happened Tuesday afternoon during McDonald's National Hiring Day -- an event designed to hire 50,000 new workers -- when prospective employees were assembled in the parking lot to fill out forms.

"I was filling out my application when I saw two girls fighting," witness Joseph Shores told WJW-TV, Cleveland. "I don't know their names, but they were fighting over drama, hood stuff."

"One girl was on top of the driver, beating her. Then the driver went forward, somehow it kicked into reverse and the car went backwards, hitting three people. It was crazy," said witness Arnecia Patterson.

The driver sped away but witnesses got the car's license plate number and gave it to police, The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer reported.

Turan Strange, 59, the owner and operator of the McDonald's, was in fair condition at MetroHealth Medical Center. Marilyn O'Stricker, the restaurant's manager, was treated and released, as was a 17-year-old involved in the incident, the Cleveland Leader said.

There were reports as many as five people were struck but only three were reported injured.
