MADISON, Wis., April 15 (UPI) -- Some Republican presidential hopefuls will try to appeal to Tea Party activists during Tax Day rallies by the grassroots movement throughout the United States.

Rallies were planned Friday and Saturday.

One of the most prominent events was scheduled Friday at the Capitol in Concord, N.H., which conducts the first presidential primary, The Hill reported.

The rally is sponsored by Americans for Prosperity.

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, former Louisiana Gov. Buddy Roemer and businessman and radio personality Herman Cain were scheduled speakers. All four have formed presidential exploratory committees.

Thousands of Tea Party activists from across Wisconsin are expected to attend a Tax Day rally Saturday and catch the keynote address delivered by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison reported.

A list of conservative speakers include radio personality Vicki McKenna, Wall Street Journal columnist John Fund, talk show host John T. Harris and Americans for Prosperity State Director Matt Seaholm -- but none can fire up a crowd like Palin, the party's 2008 vice presidential nominee and current Fox News commentator, one observer said.

"Sarah Palin is a name to conjure with," said Charles Franklin, a University of Wisconsin-Madison political science professor. "She brings national attention and excites the base. But she will also attract more opposition."

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, will speak at a Tax Day event at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire.

Business mogul Donald Trump, who's been considering a White House bid, is scheduled to be in Boca Raton, Fla., Saturday to address a Tea Party rally.
