HONOLULU, April 7 (UPI) -- Police in Honolulu say they have arrested President Barack Obama's golfing buddy and former classmate in a reverse prostitution sting operation.

Robert Richard "Bobby" Titcomb, 49, who attended the Punahou School with Obama, was arrested Monday evening and charged with solicitation of a prostitute, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported.

He was one of four men arrested in a reverse sting aimed at customers rather than prostitutes, police said. Obama last played golf with Titcomb during the Christmas and New Year's holiday and on Dec. 30 the first family spent the day at Titcomb's beachfront home in Waialua.

Titcomb was released after posting $500 bail. The offense is a misdemeanor that carries a $500 fine. If convicted, Titcomb could also face probation, community service or up to 30 days in jail.

KITV, Honolulu, said the sting involved a fake online female escort Web site. Titcomb's initial court date is May 2.

Titcomb and Obama attended the private Punahou School, with Obama graduating in 1979. A school publication described Titcomb as a "commercial fisherman and airline employee."
