GATLINBURG, Tenn., April 5 (UPI) -- A sewage basin gave way in Tennessee Tuesday and the ensuing flood left two workers missing, authorities said.
Hundreds of people searched for the two Veolia Water employees missing after the 9 a.m. collapse at the Gatlinburg wastewater treatment plant, the Seymour Herald reported. The workers' names had not been released.

Officials estimated the spill sent more than 1 million gallons of untreated sewage into the Little Pigeon River.
The cause of the collapse of the 20-year-old basin had not been determined, the newspaper said.
