COLUMBUS, Ohio, March 31 (UPI) -- A Muskingum County, Ohio, school bus driver received 30 days in jail after pleading no contest to charges involving the death of a child, court sources said.

Carol Oler was driving a Tri-Valley bus with 16 passengers to Nashville Elementary School in June 2010 when the bus ran into a ditch and rolled onto its roof pinning six-year-old Kasey King of Frazeysburg inside.

In addition to her jail sentence, Muskingum County Municipal Court Judge Jay F. Vinsel ordered that Oler, of Dresden, Ohio, not be allowed to drive for two years, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

Initially, Oler told investigators she was forced off the road by an oncoming car, but the State Highway Patrol determined no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Oler, 48, was originally charged with vehicular homicide, and pleaded no contest to a lesser charge of vehicular manslaughter and a count of failing to control the bus.
