ROSSLYN, Va., March 30 (UPI) -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was ticketed in a four-vehicle accident in Virginia, police said.

U.S. Park Police told The Washington Post Scalia was driving south on the George Washington Parkway just before 9 a.m. Tuesday en route to the court to hear the Walmart sex discrimination case.

He allegedly rear-ended a car stopped in traffic approaching the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge, triggering a chain reaction, police said. There were no injuries reported.

Brooke Salkoff, a former NBC reporter who was just behind Scalia's BMW, told the Post, "It slammed into the car in front of his, which pushed the other two forward."

Park Police Sgt. David Schlosser said the justice got a ticket for following too closely, which carries a fine of $70, plus a $20 special assessment.
