A third person connected to the investigation, Angela Dilworth, has resigned, DCF spokesman Mark Riordan said.

Five other department employees have received reprimands including the agency's top Miami administrator and four workers for Florida's abuse hotline.

The hotline received three calls saying 10-year-old Nubia Barahona and her twin brother were in danger four days before Nubia was found dead and her brother Victor had been doused with chemicals.

Nubia's adoptive parents, Jorge and Carmen Barahona, have been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and neglect.
