WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., March 1 (UPI) -- The nose gear on a small jet collapsed as the plane taxied from the gate at a Connecticut airport Tuesday, causing the flight's delay, officials said.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Arlene Salac said the 50-seat Embraer 145 U.S. Airways plane was scheduled to leave Tuesday morning from Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks for Pittsburgh, the Hartford Courant reported.

No one was injured, the newspaper said.

"It felt like we backed into something," said a passenger, who asked to remain anonymous.

The plane was carrying 29 passengers, Valerie Wunder, a U.S. Airways spokeswoman, said.

She said the airline will accommodate the passengers, perhaps by bringing in another plane.

Wunder said no other flights are affected by the incident.

"Safety is our No. 1 priority, so we're definitely looking into it," Wunder said.
