WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- White House press secretary Jay Carney takes over the last piece of the White House communications mosaic Monday when he assumes the official Twitter account.

Carney began his job this week, but has yet to post on the @PressSec account on the popular mini-blogging Internet site, The Hill reported.

White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer tweeted the news on Friday: "Jay Carney will officially take over the @PressSec account next week. He will start by taking your questions on Monday afternoon."

Carney's predecessor, Robert Gibbs, posted frequently on the @PressSec account, which has more than 150,000 followers.
