Boy dies at Minnesota ski resort

DULUTH, Minn., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- A 12-year-old Wisconsin boy apparently was fatally injured in a skiing accident at Spirit Mountain in Duluth, Minn., authorities said.

Police said ski patrol members found the boy, who was from Grantsburg, lying on the ground among trees halfway down a ski run Friday afternoon, the Duluth News Tribune reported. Police said he had suffered trauma and was not breathing, and was pronounced dead about a half hour later at a hospital, the newspaper said.

The youth was at the resort with a church group from Wisconsin, police said.
