WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- White House spokesman Robert Gibbs confirmed Monday this is his last week as press secretary before leaving the Obama administration.

"I'm going to miss almost all of you," Gibbs told reporters during his daily briefing.

Replacing Gibbs is Jay Carney, former spokesman for Vice President Joe Biden.

Gibbs announced in January he was leaving the White House to join President Obama's re-election campaign with David Axelrod and Jim Messina, who left the Obama administration earlier.
