BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- An Indiana University student who was found unconscious at a fraternity house has died, the campus police chief said.

Brian Macken, 19, who was hospitalized in Bloomington, Ind., died Tuesday afternoon, Chief Keith Cash told the Indiana Daily Student, the university newspaper.

The cause of Macken's death remains unknown, and Cash said the hospital lab test results may not be known for weeks.

Macken was visiting the Phi Sigma Kappa house Friday afternoon when he became ill, Cash said. When emergency workers responded to a call at 2:16 p.m., they began CPR and were able to revive Macken before he was taken to the hospital.

Cash said Phi Sig members placed the call and they have been cooperating with university police who took evidence from the fraternity house and Macken's room. There were signs of drug use in Macken's residence but not at the Phi Sig house, Cash said.

Police are working to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the death, and Cash said the police filed court orders Tuesday to get information from Macken's computer, cellphone and hospital records.
