Partial outage of Bank of America Web site

NEW YORK, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Bank of America said some customers were unable to access their online accounts Friday because of a "routine system change" and not WikiLeaks.

The Web site outage spurred a flood of complaints via Twitter, CNN reported.

"We are experiencing some sporadic issues for a small population of customers. The majority of our customers can bank online," spokeswoman Tara Burke said.

"This was the result of a routine system change made last night. This is not a form of malware, or any attack or anything related to WikiLeaks."

Bank of America and other large financial companies reportedly are the target of repeated attacks directed on behalf of the Web site created by Julian Assange in 2006.
