GARY, Ind., Jan. 8 (UPI) -- An elderly Indiana man has admitted killing another man for eating his hot dog.

James Graham, 74, of Hazel Crest pleaded guilty Thursday in a Lake County, Ind., courtroom to voluntary manslaughter for killing David Marx, 53, of Hammond, the Gary, Ind., Post-Tribune reports. He is to be sentenced Feb. 14.

Graham and Marx were in a Hammond apartment on New Year's Day when Marx went into the kitchen to eat a hot dog and a piece of bread that belonged to Graham, police said.

An argument over the food turned into a fight, and Marx suffered head injuries and blood loss. Court records said he had a cut on the right side of his throat and one on the lower left side of his cheek. He died at the scene.
