Bosworth to Asia to discuss Koreas' future

WASHINGTON, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. Ambassador Stephen Bosworth will travel to Asia Jan. 3-7 to discuss "next steps" on the Korean Peninsula, the State Department said Sunday.

Bosworth, the special representative for North Korea policy, will arrive in Seoul Tuesday and travel to Beijing Wednesday, the department said in a statement. He will go to Tokyo Thursday.

Bosworth with discuss next steps on the Korean Peninsula with senior officials on all three stops.

Sung Kim, special envoy for six-party talks, will accompany Bosworth to Seoul and Beijing.
