MIAMI, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- A Miami air passenger said he had forgotten all about the loaded gun in his fanny pack when he tried to board a flight to Cuba.

Juan Manuel Baldoquin, 48, was jailed on $10,000 bond for carrying a concealed weapon and grand theft of a firearm, since the .25 caliber pistol had been reported stolen in 1996, The Miami Herald reported Saturday.

The Herald said Baldoquin had been on his way to Havana when a Transportation Security Administration agent spotted the gun as Baldoquin's fanny pack passed through an X-ray machine Friday.

Baldoquin reportedly told police: "That is my firearm, I honestly forgot that I was carrying the firearm," The Herald said.
