Professional wrestler killed at club

ATLANTA, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- A professional wrestler working a security job at an Atlanta-area nightclub was shot and killed, possibly for ejecting unruly customers, a friend said.

Bullets struck two people Sunday evening at DeKalb County's Shooter Alley, and Chris Long, 33, died from his wounds at an area hospital, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

"Apparently, three guys started misbehaving and Chris and two other bouncers tossed them out," said Long's friend, Frank Aldridge.

Police didn't release details about the incident, but Aldridge said he thinks the men returned later and targeted Long in the shooting.

Long was a wrestler with Lucha Libre USA, a New York company that produces live events and television shows for MTV2. He went by the nickname "Solid," and was the comedic sidekick to Marco Corleone, Aldridge said.

"He lived for pro wrestling," said Steven Ship, chief executive officer of Lucha Libra USA. "He was very loved by the fans. He was a bigger-than-life character, both on TV and in person."

Long is survived by his wife, Lisa, and two children, Aldridge said.
