Company recalls potato chips

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Krunchers! Inc., with offices in Illinois and Indiana, is recalling 18 cases of Jays Original Potato Chips because they contain an undeclared milk allergen.

The company said in a news release it is working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to recall the chips, which can be identified by a code in the upper right corner of the bag reading: JAN16CA42011.

Each of the 18 cases of chips being recalled contains ten 12-ounce bags priced at $3.99.

No illnesses have been reported, but people with allergies to milk or dairy products could have a reaction if they consume the chips, the company said.

The chips were produced at the company's Jeffersonville, Ind., plant; the company said all remaining Krunchers! and Jays products are unaffected.

The company's products are distributed throughout the Midwest in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
