AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Republican Rick Perry has won an unprecedented third four-year term as governor of Texas defeating Democratic opponent Bill White, results show.
Perry, proffering Tea Party rhetoric and seen as benefiting from a Texas economy less vulnerable than other states, bested the former mayor of Houston with a margin of roughly 56 percent to 41 percent, WFAA-TV, Dallas/Fort Worth, reported.
