On-duty officer accused of sexual assault

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif., Oct. 29 (UPI) -- A California police officer is facing charges after allegedly taking his uniform off during a noise complaint call and sexually assaulting a woman.

Prosecutors said Cathedral City police officer John Fox Jr., 37, responded to a noise complaint at the home Sept. 29 and allegedly stripped off his clothes and jumped into a pool with three women, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.

Fox allegedly sexually assaulted one of the women while another, the homeowner, called 911. The women told authorities Fox put his uniform back on and left before other officers arrived.

The officer was charged with attempted sexual penetration, assault under the color of authority, indecent exposure and sexual battery.
