ALBUQUERQUE, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- A New Mexico woman told by restaurant staff to cover up while breastfeeding her baby has received an apology from the eatery's management.

Micayla Duran, 23, of Santa Fe was breastfeeding her son Saturday at the Frontier Restaurant in Albuquerque, The Santa Fe New Mexican reported.

Duran said she and her partner, Parker Jennings, 24, were at a booth in an uncrowded room of the restaurant with their sons Xia, 5 months, and Tau, 3, waiting for their food, when a security guard walked up and told Jennings she had to cover her breast.

They refused, and the guard returned with two Frontier employees, who repeated the request. The couple were so upset they demanded, and received, their money back.

Shannon Rainosek, human resources officer for the Frontier, acknowledged Monday Duran was within her rights. A New Mexico law states, "A mother may breastfeed her child in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be present."
