SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- A Salt Lake City man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing two boys while performing a spiritual cleansing in their home, authorities say.
Jose David Morales-Hernandez, a Guatemalan transvestite who used the name Nicole Morales and called himself a Mayan priestess, pleaded guilty in August to two first-degree felony counts of attempted aggravated sex abuse of a child, The Salt Lake City Tribune reported Monday.
The victims' mother hired Morales-Hernandez, 22, to spiritually cleanse their house, a common custom among Latino families, prosecutor Cristina Ortega said.
His business card identified him as Nicole Morales, "The Divine Master."
Morales-Hernandez took the boys into their rooms separately and performed sex acts on them, prosecutors said.
He came back each day for three days and abused the boys four times before the 12-year-old told his mother, police reports said.
Sentenced to three years to life, Morales-Hernandez will go to prison under an immigration detainer and will be deported to Guatemala after he is released, the Tribune reported.
