Pakistan seizes more stolen NATO supplies

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Four people were arrested after the discovery of another warehouse full of stolen NATO military supplies was found, Pakistani police in Islamabad said Sunday.

The raid Saturday night was based on information gleaned from four other people arrested in a similar police raid Friday night that shut down another warehouse, the Dawn newspaper reported.

Last week, containers of NATO equipment were plundered at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the northwest at the Khyber Pass, which remained closed for a fourth day Sunday, the report said.

Pakistan closed the border crossing in retaliation for alleged NATO helicopter incursions that opened fire and killed three Pakistani soldiers.

Among items recovered in Islamabad and other cities so far are four- and six-wheel armored personnel carriers, helicopter parts, large generators, motors, communications systems, shoes, gloves and vacuum cleaners, the report said.
