Octomom in danger of mortgage foreclosure

LA HABRA, Calif., Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The California woman known as "the octomom" has staved off foreclosure on her mortgage until month's end, but her lender said he is eager to get her out.

Nadya Suleman was paid to do a television interview this weekend, which will allow her to pay the $4,060 per month mortgage on her La Habra house where she lives with her 14 children, but her lawyer said she will be unable to make the $450,000 balloon payment that will come due Oct. 9, the Orange County Register reported Monday.

Suleman's lawyer, Jeff Czech, would not disclose what the TV show is or when the interview will air, the Register said.

"She's trying very hard to earn money," Czech said.

The paid interview offer came Friday after word got out that Suleman had not yet paid her mortgage for September, the Register reported.

Amir Haddadin, Suleman's lender, said he was prepared to begin foreclosure proceedings Monday.

Haddadin said he was getting paperwork ready with a foreclosure company.

He said if he doesn't receive the balloon payment, "I'm not going to wait another second. I need my money. There's nothing to be negotiated."
