WASHINGTON, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- President Barack Obama didn't tip his hand about whether his Treasury secretary and key economic adviser would be around after the 2010 midterm elections.

Asked during a town hall televised on CNBC Monday if he has asked Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council chief Lawrence Summers to remain until the end of his term, Obama said he hasn't made any decisions concerning his economic team.

"I have not made any determinations about personnel," Obama said. "I think Larry Summers and Tim Geithner have done an outstanding job as have my whole economic team."

Lawmakers have been critical of Obama's economic advisers, particularly Geithner, saying the administration's economic policies haven't worked fast enough to help the economy recover or created enough jobs.

"This is tough, the work that they do," Obama said. "They've been at it for two years, and, you know, they're going to have a whole range of decisions about family that will factor in."
