Tenn. man charged with killing mother

SMYRNA, Tenn., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- The body of a Tennessee woman missing since Sept. 9 was found Thursday, and her son has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, authorities said.

Smyrna police believe Chris Hawks, 38, abducted his mother, Lillian Moran, 56, from her home, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported.

Moran's wallet and purse had been found in her home, The Tennessean reported.

Police said they put out an urgent bulletin on Moran and Hawks late Wednesday, and asked people to be on the lookout for Hawks, who had been observed driving his mother's pickup truck after she vanished.

Moran's body was found in a wooded area in the Donelson neighborhood of Nashville following a police discussion with Hawks.
