Parents check on son's body at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 15 (UPI) -- The body of a Marine killed in Iraq was exhumed Wednesday at Arlington National Cemetery, his parents said, so they could confirm he was in the right grave.

Scott Warner of Canton, Ohio, identified a tattoo on his son's arm, The Washington Post reported. The same tattoo was used to identify Pfc. Heath Warner after he was killed in 2006.

"I can breathe," Heath's mother, Melissa Warner, said. "I feel like a ton of bricks have been lifted off my chest."

Arlington has been caught up in a scandal about bodies buried under the wrong headstones, in the wrong locations and with no headstones. The Warners asked for details about their son's grave as the scandal exploded and became even more concerned when paperwork they received gave incorrect information about the transfer of their son's body to Arlington.

Gary Tallman, an Army spokesman, said that three weeks ago the grave of a sergeant who died in 2006 of cancer was opened because his widow was worried. In that case, another body was under the sergeant's headstone and his body was found in a grave nearby.
