Meetings, gala speech on Obama's agenda

WASHINGTON, Sept. 15 (UPI) -- Several closed-door meetings are on the Wednesday daily schedule for U.S. President Obama.

In the morning, Obama will receive the daily briefings then meet with senior advisers, the schedule indicated.

Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will meet with Gen. Ray Odierno, former commander of U.S. troops in Iraq.

In the afternoon, Obama will conduct a Cabinet meeting before meeting with Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee.

In the evening, Obama will speak at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's 33rd annual Awards Gala at the Washington Convention Center.
