DALLAS, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- A suspected drunken driver careened his vehicle into a bus shelter in Dallas early Monday, killing two men, police said.
The victims apparently were sleeping in the Dallas Area Rapid Transit stop across from Parkland Memorial Hospital when a northbound pickup jumped a curb and leveled the shelter just after 2 a.m., The Dallas Morning News reported.
The stop is on Harry Hines Blvd. just south of Inwood Road.
Both victims, described as homeless men in their 30s, died at the scene. They were not identified pending notification of their families.
The suspect, also not identified, was arrested and faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter. He suffered no serious injuries.
Northbound Harry Hines was closed for hours while detectives collected evidence.
