ORLANDO, Fla., Sept. 9 (UPI) -- A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a woman and a 14-year-old boy with acid while they were in a car, authorities said.

Fredrick Rogers, 50, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery after the acid attack in Palm Bay that apparently grew out of an argument, the Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday.

The woman, who wasn't identified, had burns over 30 percent of her body and was being treated at a local trauma center, Palm Bay Fire Rescue officials said.

The boy suffered less severe injuries, they said.

Police didn't say what started the argument that prompted the attack Wednesday evening.
