STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- Swedish authorities say they aren't buying a lawyers claim that he doesn't know where WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is these days.
Marianne Nye, head of the public prosecution authority, told the Swedish news agency TT she is confident Assange can be tracked down quickly in regards to the ongoing investigation of sexual assault charges.
"I imagine that (attorney) Leif Silbersky can get in contact with his client without any problems, no matter where the client is located," Nye said.
Silbersky said Friday he was not certain if his client was even in Sweden and he did not keep tabs on his long roster of clients, TT reported.
Assange has been accused of rape and sexual molestation but has not been formally charged or summoned for questioning. Assange has denied the charges and said he expected to be the target of so-called dirty trick in retaliation for the release of U.S. military documents by WikiLeaks.
