LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., Aug. 31 (UPI) -- A 10-year-old Georgia boy, found Tuesday after being missing overnight, arranged his disappearance with a friend of the family, police said.
Christopher Ray, 29, has been charged with interfering with the custody of a child, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
Mario Taddeo's family reported the boy missing Monday when he failed to return home from playing with a friend. Gwinnett County police found the boy at Ray's house in neighboring Hall County on Tuesday.
Cpl. Jacob Smith said investigators learned Mario called Ray and asked him to come pick him up. He said the boy apparently wanted to get away from home because of "personal family conflicts."
Mario and a 12-year-old brother have been placed temporarily in custody of the state Department of Family and Child Services.
