Art Forgey, a spokesman for the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, said a deputy responding early Thursday to a call about a hit-and-run collision, pulled over a driver he saw operating his car erratically. Dees, the driver, was identified by witnesses as the person involved in the hit-and-run.

Dees was being held in lieu of $170,000 bail on charges that included leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and driving with a suspended license in addition to drunken driving.
