FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 18 (UPI) -- American Airlines announced Wednesday it will let passengers pick any remaining seats in the first few rows of the coach compartment for $19 to $39 each way.

The "Express Seats" option will be available at airport check-in kiosks from 24 hours until 50 minutes before a flight's scheduled departure, The Dallas Morning News said.

Coach passengers now can pick any non-reserved seat, including the front rows of the coach section behind bulkheads that offer extra legroom.

"Express Seats highlights American's focus on offering customers what they value most," said Virasb Vahidi, American's chief commercial officer.
