DETROIT, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Detroit's former mayor was questioned in a lawsuit filed in the shooting of a woman allegedly involved in a wild party at the mayoral residence, officials say.
Kwame Kilpatrick gave a deposition Monday in the suit brought by the family of stripper Tamara Greene, 27, of Detroit, killed in a drive-by shooting in April 2003, several months after allegedly dancing at the party, the Detroit Free Press reported.
In the suit, the family claims Detroit police deliberately botched the investigation of the killing.
Kilpatrick has repeatedly denied the alleged party took place or that his wife, Carlita Kilpatrick, assaulted a stripper at the event.
Former police executives have denied scuttling the investigation of Greene's death.
Attorney Norman Yatooma, representing the family, said he would depose former Detroit Police Chief Jerry Oliver and Kilpatrick's wife.
Lawyers for Kilpatrick and the city of Detroit are expected to file motions when the depositions are complete asking U.S. District Judge Gerald Rosen to dismiss the suit, the Free Press reported.
