'Laser' reported in sky near Obama flight

CHICAGO, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A laser or some other lighted object was pointed at the sky as President Barack Obama's plane was leaving Chicago, authorities said.

The president's plane was taking off from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport Thursday night when the light was reported, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.

The Federal Aviation Administration was notified about the incident and the FBI is investigating, the newspaper said.

The FBI also was investigating two instances of lasers pointed at planes landing at O'Hare just before the president's plane took off, WLS reported.
