Woman, 93, cited, driving without license

DEVILS LAKE, N.D., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- A 93-year-old North Dakota woman whose license was suspended after she was involved in a fatal crash in May was caught driving this week, authorities said.

Faith Mitzel of Oberon is scheduled to appear in court Monday, the Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald reported Wednesday. She was issued several tickets Tuesday -- including failure to signal a turn, out-of-date plates and no insurance as well as driving with a suspended license.

Mitzel said she was bringing home an old car she plans to sell after it was repaired in Devils Lake.

Mitzel became nationally notorious in May when she hit two motorcycles head on. Sheri Liedholt, 30, who was pregnant, was killed, while her husband James, the driver of the motorcycle, and Jason Hunter, who was on the other, were seriously injured.

Mitzel was given a $20 ticket for careless driving and her license was suspended for the May crash.
