Note from plane found in Lake Michigan

LUDINGTON, Mich., July 26 (UPI) -- Searchers say they have found a note apparently written by one of the passengers on a medical-transport plane shortly before it crashed in Lake Michigan.

The note was written by Dr. Jim Hall, one of four people missing since the plane went down Friday. The pilot was rescued.

The note was discovered inside a waterproof medical bag found floating in the area of the crash.

Hall wrote the note about 10 minutes before the aircraft crashed while flying from Alma, Mich., to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

The note said the plane had lost power over the lake and was trying to make it back to land.

"We are praying to God that all will (be) taken care of," the note said.

The Detroit Free Press said some of the note's handwriting could not be deciphered.

The Coast Guard suspended a search for the Cessna 206 Saturday.
