Report: Child-porn users found at Pentagon

WASHINGTON, July 23 (UPI) -- Investigators said they found dozens of Pentagon employees, contractors and military personnel who accessed child pornography on their government computers.

The allegations were contained in a report, written last year, by the Defense Criminal Investigative Service, The Boston Globe said Friday.

The Globe said the report warned that the activities involved some people who had high security clearances, which would put them at risk of blackmail and bribe attempts.

The suspects were assigned to the Pentagon, military installations around the nation and also to highly sensitive research and intelligence agencies, including the National Security Agency.

Some of the cases led to prosecutions and others were dismissed. Still others have languished for years without any resolution, the Globe said.

The Defense Department said it could not comment on individual cases.
