Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor
SEATTLE, July 20 (UPI) -- The "Barefoot Bandit," arrested in the Bahamas earlier this month for airplane theft, will be returned to Seattle on a prison cell-like plane, officials said.
Colton Harris-Moore, 19, was captured after a chase by Bahamian police and flown to Miami, where a U.S. magistrate ordered him returned to Seattle to face a federal charge of stealing the plane last year and crashing it near Granite Falls, the Seattle Times reported Tuesday.
Harris-Moore is accused of stealing several planes and eluding law enforcement for almost two years, the Times reported.
He is also a suspect in several burglaries, thefts and other property crimes from western Washington to Indiana after he fled a halfway house two years ago, the newspaper said.
The suspect will wear handcuffs and leg irons during his flight. He will visit the restroom in chains and under guard, the Times said.
"There's nothing definitive right now. But it could be that he'll be here late this week, or maybe early next," said David Miller, the chief deputy U.S. marshal in western Washington.
