Gore accuser accused ex-boyfriend in 1998

PORTLAND, Ore., July 2 (UPI) -- The woman who claims former U.S. Vice President Al Gore sexually molested her said 12 years ago she had been abused by a former boyfriend, court papers show.

Molly Hagerty sought a restraining order against the man in a Portland, Ore., court, Inside Edition reported. A judge rejected her request without giving a reason.

Hagerty, a massage therapist, said her problems with Gore occurred when she gave him a massage in a Portland hotel room in 2006.

Most of her accusations against her boyfriend in 1998 involved his behaving in what she said was a menacing manner.

"He showed up at my place of work -- I immediately fled. His presence and demeanor were threatening to me," she said when asked to describe the most serious recent incident.

She said the man assaulted her in a park in 1996, injuring her enough to require medical attention, and that he "spoke in a menacing tone" the same year.

On three occasions involving the boyfriend, Hagerty failed to show up for interviews with police, Inside Edition said, behavior that was repeated when she made allegations against Gore. She also has a history of failing to make court appearances for traffic tickets, the report said.
