NEW YORK, June 30 (UPI) -- The head of the U.S. Anti-Defamation League says the anti-Semitism of Nation of Islam leader Minister Louis Farrakhan has hit a new low.

ADL Director Abraham H. Foxman says Farrakhan has become "obsessive, diabolical and unrestrained" in his hatred of Jews.

Farrakhan sent a letter to the ADL director and numerous other American Jewish leaders along with what the ADL describes as two virulently anti-Semitic "histories."

One of the volumes accuses Jews of working for centuries to financially undermine black people.

Farrakhan has "opened a new chapter in his ministry where scapegoating Jews is no longer just part of a message, but the message," Foxman says.

In his letter accompanying the texts, Farrakhan extends an offer to open a dialogue to help repair "the damage that has been done by your ancestors to mine."
