WASHINGTON, June 23 (UPI) -- Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush says he wants President Barack Obama to stop blaming his brother for the economic and environmental woes facing the nation.

Bush said he's tired of Obama pointing to former President George W. Bush's tenure to explain the nation's plight, calling Obama's behavior "childish," Politico reported Wednesday.

"It's kind of like a kid coming to school saying, 'The dog ate my homework,'" the ex-governor said of the president during an interview with The New York Times. "It's childish. This is what children do until they mature. They don't accept responsibility."

Bush said it seemed as if Obama were still on the campaign trail and "he likes to blame George's administration for everything."

Bush also criticized Obama's handling of the economy, telling the Times Obama was like "Hubert Humphrey on steroids." Humphrey, a liberal from Minnesota, was vice president under Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1960s.

"I don't think there's much newness in spending more money as the solution to every problem," Bush said.
