WASHINGTON, June 17 (UPI) -- A woman who showed up on Capitol Hill Thursday to protest the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico was escorted out of a House hearing room by police.
CBS reported the woman appeared to have oil smeared on her hands and face when she yelled "you need to be charged with a crime" as BP Chief Executive Officer Tony Hayward started delivering his opening statement before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce's Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation.
She kept yelling that the oil company executive should go to jail as Capitol police took her into custody and led her away.
CBS identified the protester as Diane Wilson, a Texas shrimper and activist who co-founded Codepink for Peace. Wilson disrupted a Senate hearing last week when she poured a vicious liquid on her.
