WASHINGTON, May 24 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama welcomes Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Harini to Washington Monday, the White House said.

Obama and Hariri will discuss mutual goals supporting Lebanon's sovereignty and independence, and regional peace and security, the daily agenda said.

Obama also will host a reception to celebrate Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The president also will receive the daily briefings, meet with senior advisers and participate in a conference call with Gulf Coast governors about the BP oil spill.
