BEDFORD, N.Y., May 19 (UPI) -- Police in Bedford, N.Y., say they have charged the wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. with driving while intoxicated.
Mary F. Kennedy, 50, was arrested after she drove her Volvo station wagon over a curb at St. Patrick's School, the White Plains (N.Y.) Journal News reported Wednesday.
Lieutenant Jeff Dickan told the newspaper Kennedy failed a series of field sobriety tests.
He said she had a blood-alcohol level of 0.11 at the time of her arrest Saturday night. The legal limit for DWI is 0.08.
The officer who made the arrest said Kennedy told him she was at the school to pick up some people who had attended a carnival there.
Last week, police reported responding to a domestic incident at the Kennedy home.
No details on the incident were available.
