No automatic COLA raises for Congress

WASHINGTON, May 14 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama signed legislation Friday that prevents members of Congress from automatically receiving a pay raise.

Congressional members automatically receive a cost-of-living adjustment annually unless they vote otherwise, which both chambers did last month, The Hill reported.
