Ex-owner won't leave foreclosed house

STONY RIDGE, Ohio, May 4 (UPI) -- An Ohio man remained locked in his foreclosed home Tuesday, demanding the bank that bought it at a sheriff's sale work with him to allow him to keep it.

Keith Sadler, 53, of Stony Ridge sealed himself into the house Monday, the Toledo Blade reported. Members of the Toledo Foreclosure Defense League are camped out in the yard.

He says he will not leave until the bank agrees to work with him or he is carried out.

Sadler bought the house from his father 12 years ago and made mortgage payments until he lost his job. Dana Corp. State Bank and Trust Co. of Defiance, Ohio, which held the mortgage, bought the house at a sheriff's sale in January.

"I hate touting the Obama plan, but it's a plan based on a percentage of income you make and the bank has to work out an interest rate that allows you to make payments," Sadler said. "I'm not looking for a free ride. I'm not looking for the bank to just let me have the house, but to work with me."
